Yet another Dark Knight Rises trailer has come out, making me want to watch the movie no less than every other trailer that has come out for the movie. At some point the studio needs to figure out what’s cost effective. I was ready to see the movie after the first trailer. Not only that but I really really wanted to see the movie after the first trailer. After the second, I wanted to see it even more. They sold me, when the movie came out, I was going to go see it. After three, four, and five, nothing has changed. I am still going to see the movie. I’m sure it doesnt cost that much to make these trailers but at some point the value added has to be pretty diminished.. Continue reading →
During the MTV Movie Awards we got to see a brand new trailer for the new Dark Knight Rises movie coming out July 20th. Between that, the new Bourne Legacy movie and the new James Bond movie there is a lot to look forward to. The summer is already an incredible season. The weather is great, you completely stop caring about work, and the beach exists. Always good when all this is complemented by three potentially great summer flicks. Continue reading →
The new Dark Knight Rises trailer finally came out today officially, so we don’t have to watch it on camera phones anymore. It obviously looks incredible. I saw it in front of MI:4 in IMAX this weekend (also a great movie by the way, and Paula Patton is NSD Approved immediately), and the entire theater cheered when the preview ended. I can’t remember a movie that was this anticipated since…The Dark Knight. I might actually go see this at midnight if I can stand being with all the nerds dressed up. Also, going off of DJStrongIsland’s post last week, the 6 minute prologue is after the jump. Watch it fast since I’m sure it will be taken down in about 5 minutes like the last one. Some kid went to the IMAX Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and managed to bootleg the top half of the 7 minute trailer for Dark Knight Rises… May be the most awesome seven minutes of half a screen of a trailer I’ve ever seen. It’s only playing at 70MM IMAX theaters, of which there at only 42, so this may be your only chance to see this. From what I can tell from half an IMAX screen, this movie is going to be amazing. Tailer after the jump. Continue reading →
If you weren’t at last night’s midnight showing of Harry Potter (I’m not even going to call people that went nerds or make fun of them in any way. Harry Potter is awesome), you probably didn’t see the first full Dark Knight Rises preview that premiered in front of it. This is the best quality I could find so far (it’s actually not terrible), and I’m sure the HD version will be hitting the web soon. If you can’t wait until then, check out the preview. The preview basically has two scenes: one, of Gary Oldman laying in a hospital bed, saying that the city can’t survive without him and they need him to come back (remember when we last saw him he was playing the villain and running away as dogs and police chased him). We then see an image of Inception’s Tom Hardy as Bayne, followed by a city falling down (pretty standard Christopher Nolan). The last part is the coolest although only about 2 seconds long, it shows Batman standing face to face with Bayne, and it’s worth noting that Bayne looks HUGE. Not a great preview, but a better teaser trailer than most since they just started filming it only a couple months ago. For a full run down and a pretty good commentary on the preview as well, check out Darren Franich’s blog on EW.
